Sonya Erasmus (born September 13, 1984 ) is a former Canadian biathlete .

Sonya Erasmus competed in her first international race as part of the Biathlon Junior World Championships in 2002 in Ridnaun . She was 52nd in the individual and 53rd in the sprint. A year later , the Canadian in Kościelisko was 51st in the individual, 47th in the sprint, 48th in the pursuit and with the 13th season. 2004 Erasmus in Haute-Maurienne finished 49th in the individual and 50th in the sprint as with the season. The last time she took part in a Junior World Championship was in Kontiolahti in 2005 and reached 44th place in the individual, 49th in the sprint and 47th in the pursuit.

Erasmus contested her first women's race in Altenberg in 2006 , after having contested several races in the European Junior Cup in 2004. As 23rd of the sprint and 24th of the pursuit, she immediately won points in her first races. She achieved her best result in the racing series in 2007 as seventh of a pursuer in Forni Avoltri . The 2006 open European championships in Langdorf became the first international championship . Erasmus was 54th in the individual, 63rd in the sprint and with Cynthia Clark , Lindsey Bolivar and Megan Tandy as the starting runner of season 15. In 2007 she made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup and reached 76th place in her first race, a sprint in Oberhof . With the season he missed as eleventh at the side of Zina Kocher , Sandra Keith and Marie Pierre Parent just one place a top ten result with the season. Shortly afterwards, in Pokljuka , she achieved her best result in a single race in the highest racing series as 57th in a sprint. The high point and conclusion of his career were the 2007 biathlon world championships in Antholz . In both the individual and the sprint, she finished 61st and missed the pursuit race by just one place. In the season, Erasmus was 14 with Kocher, Keith and Parent.
