Sophie Ann Fasold (born January 2, 1994 in Munich , Germany ) is an American handball player .

Career

Sophie Fasold grew up in Ismaning in her youth and attended the Ismaning Middle School located there. In her youth she played for TSV Ismaning and later for the Danish clubs Bjerringbro FH and SK Aarhus. For the 2013/14 season, the 1.74 meter tall goalkeeper moved to TSV Owschlag in the third division . From 2015 she ran for the HG Owschlag-Kropp-Tetenhusen , a merger of the handball departments of TSV Owschlag and HSG Kropp-Tetenhusen . In the summer of 2018 she moved to the second division TSV Nord Harrislee .

Fasold is a member of the United States national team with which she competed in the 16th Pan American Games in Guadalajara , the 2013 Pan American Championship in the Dominican Republic , the 2015 Pan American Championship in Cuba , the 2017 Pan American Championship in Argentina and the 18th Pan American Games participated in Peru . At the North American and Caribbean Handball Championship in 2017, she took second place with the USA and was elected to the All-Star team. In 2019 she finished fourth at the Pan American Games in Lima .
