Sorsele ( South Sami : suarsa , umesamisch Suorssá ) is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of Västerbotten County and the historic province of Lapland . It is also the capital of the municipality of the same name .

The place is on the river Vindelälven . The European route 45 and the domestic railway run through Sorsele . The Inlandsbahnmuseum in the small station shows the history of the construction and operation of the Inlandsbahn.
