Soukaina Zakkour (born October 13, 1993 ) is a Moroccan hammer thrower who occasionally competes in other throwing disciplines.

Athletic career

Soukaina Zakkour gained her first international experience at the African Championships 2014 in Marrakech , where she finished tenth with a width of 49.36 m. In the following year she reached fourth place at the Arab Championships in Manama with 56.41 m, as well as at the 2016 African Championships in Durban , where she threw the hammer at 61.85 m. In 2017 she won the bronze medal in hammer throw at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku behind Azerbaijani Hanna Skydan and Kıvılcım Kaya from Turkey with 63.10 m and was fifth in the javelin throw with 39.99 m. She then won the silver medal at the Arab Championships in Radès in both competitions with 61.60 m and 35.30 m and finished seventh in the Francophonie Games with 58.59 m. In 2018 she finished seventh at the Mediterranean Games in Tarragona with 60.78 m and then won the African Championships in Asaba with a new national record of 68.28 m . In addition, she was eighth at the Continental Cup in Ostrava with 58.09 m.

In 2019 she placed sixth in the discus throw at the Arab Championships in Cairo with a width of 41.44 m and won the bronze medal behind the Egyptian Rawan Barakat and Zouina Bouzebra from Algeria with the hammer with 61.00 m . At the end of August she reached eighth place in the hammer throw at the Africa Games in Rabat with 59.54 m.

From 2014 to 2016 and 2018 and 2019, Zakkour was the Moroccan champion in hammer throw, as well as javelin throwing in 2016 and discus throwing in 2019.
