Fun on Copper Mountain is a 1983 Canadian comedy film directed by David Mitchell .
action
Bobby Todd and his friend Jackson Reach are on their way to the Hotel Club Med in the Copper Mountain ski area. Jackson wants to compete in a professional ski race here, while Bobby hopes to finally meet women. So far he has had great problems addressing women because he can never be himself, but always obsessively imitates other personalities. When they arrive at the club, both men get to know the next day's schedule, so a concert is planned before the race. Bobby watches the concert set up and spontaneously imitates Sammy Davis, Jr. on stage with the song Mr. Bojangles , before he is asked off stage by singer Ronnie Hawkins because he wants to rehearse. As a result, Bobby tries in vain to contact women. Due to his constant imitations of other people, he scares off women or prepares for his response text for so long that the women have disappeared in the meantime. Meanwhile, Jackson learns that there is no more space available for the professional race. Bartender Yogi Hebadaddy offers him his seat should he defeat him in a trial race.
The next day, preparations for the race begin. Jackson believes he can easily defeat the plump yogi, but loses his race. Bobby, on the other hand, manages to have a normal conversation with the hotel employee Michelle. He learns that she wants to leave the hotel because she is unhappily in love with her boss Sonny Silverton. Bobby dresses up as a sheikh and ensnares Michelle so that the jealous Sonny Michelle finally confesses his love and later thanks Bobby for his commitment. Jackson, in turn, learns that Yogi is giving him his starting place. Although he eventually loses the professional race, he is still satisfied with his performance. In the meantime, Bobby has decided to learn to ski as well, but accidentally drives down a steep slope in the first lesson of training, where he only falls in the valley. The women are enthusiastic and transport the slightly injured Bobby to the hotel together. When Jackson asked which impersonated person made the success, Bobby proudly says that this time it was all himself.
