The Sparkassenverband Saar (SVSaar) is a public corporation with its seat in Saarbrücken , the capital of Saarland. It was founded in 1941.

Savings banks

The association represents the above-mentioned savings banks, which managed total assets of EUR 16.8 billion in 2014. Customer deposits amounted to EUR 11.9 billion. EUR 11.8 billion were loaned out. Around 3700 people are employed by the Saarland savings banks and the savings bank association. Over 200 of them are trainees.

The tasks of the association include support and service for the savings banks. This includes legal and tax advice, product development, marketing and communication tasks. In addition, the association coordinates the cooperation with the network companies such as SaarLB, LBS Saar , Saarland Versicherung and DekaBank .

The association office represents the interests of the savings banks and their association partners.

The professionally independent audit office of the association carries out the statutory audits of the seven member savings banks.

The arbitration board tries to mediate differences of opinion between the customers and the savings banks and to find amicable solutions.

The Sparkassenakademie is responsible for the training and further education of Sparkasse employees.
