Spielbach is a small town in Hohenlohe . The rural former municipality belongs to the town of Schrozberg in the district of Schwäbisch Hall .
geography
Spielbach is located in the east of the Schrozberger urban area on the border with Rothenburg ob der Tauber in Bavaria . Apart from the village of Spielbach itself, Spielbach includes the hamlet of Böhmweiler just under 2 km to the east, the hamlet of Bovenzenweiler just under 3.5 km in the south-west, the hamlet of Enzenweiler around 3.5 km in the south-east, the hamlet of Heiligenbronn around 2 km to the east-south-east, the hamlet Hummertsweiler about 1.5 km in the southeast, the Keitelhof farm about 3 km in the southeast, the hamlet Obereichenrot over 3 km in the south-southwest, the Schöngras farm just under 3 km in the south and the hamlet Untereichenrot about 2 km in the west-southwest. (Distance as the crow flies from the center of Spielberg to that of the respective settlement area.)
The nature reserve Oberrimbacher Erdfälle with an area of 71.2 hectares is located in the districts of Oberrimbach , Wildentierbach and Spielbach.
history
With Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Spielbach first came to Bavaria in 1802/03, then to the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1810 , where it was assigned to the Oberamt Gerabronn in 1811 . During the administrative reform during the Nazi era in Württemberg , the village came to the Crailsheim district in 1938 . In 1945 the place became part of the American zone of occupation and thus belonged to the newly founded state of Württemberg-Baden , which was incorporated into the current state of Baden-Württemberg in 1952.
On April 1, 1972 Spielbach was incorporated into Schrozberg and came with this through the district reform on January 1, 1973 to the district of Schwäbisch Hall .

Together with all the hamlets in the district, Spielbach has 521 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2004).
