Spirotetramat is a chemical compound from the group of tetramic acid derivatives and carbonic acid esters . It is used as an insecticide and is one of the ACC inhibitors that interrupt lipid biosynthesis .

Mode of action

Spirotetramat is an ambimobile insecticide, i. H. it is transported both up and down through the vascular bundles.

Admission

In 2013, the EU Commission decided to include Spirotetramat in the list of active ingredients permitted for plant protection products. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Spirotetramat is available under the trade name Movento.

toxicity

Spirotetramat is only slightly acutely toxic to humans . It is irritating to the eyes and has a potential to sensitize the skin . No carcinogenic effects could be demonstrated in experiments on rats . Spirotetramat is toxic to aquatic invertebrates and bees .
