The women's doubles of the world championships in doubles and mixed doubles in 1997 in squash was held from December 11 to 14 1997th

Leilani Joyce and Philippa Beams from New Zealand prevailed in the final against the British Cassie Jackman and Sue Wright with 15: 4 and 15:12 and thus became the first squash world champions in doubles.

The field of participants consisted of twelve double pairings, each of which competed with six pairings in two groups in round robin mode . The group winners and runners-up made it to the semi-finals and played out places one to four in the knockout system .
