Stéphane Rémy Daniel Risacher (born August 26,  1972 in Moulins ) is a former French basketball player .

career

Risacher, a 2.03 meter winger, moved from Stade Clermontois to the INSEP youth development organization in 1988 . There he stayed in the 1988/89 season and in 1989 went to Tours in the country's top division, the Ligue Nationale de Basket . There he was given little working time. That changed with Risacher's move to CRO Lyon. With the club he rose as a top performer in the 1990/91 season in the first division and was a regular there until 1994. Especially in the game year 1993/94 he came up with good statistical values ​​(17.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.9 basket assists / game).

From 1994 to 1999 he played for Paris SG Racing . In 1997 he was national champion with the capital city, Risacher contributed to the success on average 14.6 points per game. In the following game year 1997/98 he appeared with Paris for the first time in the Euroleague . After a year with Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez (1999/2000), the winger accepted a foreign offer and played for the Greek top team Olympiacos from 2000 to 2002 . In 2001 he was runner-up in Greece with Piraeus and a cup winner in 2002. In 2002 the NBA team Toronto Raptors showed interest in the French, but the contract was never signed. Risacher continued his career at Unicaja Málaga in the Spanish ACB league (2002 to 2006) and played there as well as in Paris under coach Božidar Maljković . His greatest successes there: Cup winners 2005 and Spanish champions 2006. In the championship year 2005/06 Risacher's playing time in Málaga of 12:40 minutes per match was comparatively low, he scored 4.2 points per match. He stayed in Spain for two more years, from 2006 to 2008 he was under contract with CB Murcia and was again a top performer. At the end of his professional career, the left-hander, who was particularly known for his strengths in defense, his good throw and his versatility, went back to his home country and played for the first division team Chalon-sur-Sâone from 2008 to 2010 .

After his playing days, he founded  a company near Lyon that offers training and exercise equipment for competitive athletes. He worked with his company among others with young players from Olympique Lyon . In addition, he worked as a player's agent.

National team

In 1993 Risacher was runner-up in the U22 age group with France. In the final against the United States , he scored six points. In the senior national team, he was used 123 times between June 1991 and November 2001. He won silver with France at the 2000 Summer Olympics . During the Olympic tournament he scored an average of 9.5 points per game, and in the 75:85 defeat in the final against the USA he got 15 points. Risacher also took part in the European Championships in 1993, 1997, 1999 and 2001.
