St. Aegidius (Marth)
The Roman Catholic village church St. Aegidius is in the municipality of Marth in the Eichsfeld district in Thuringia .
history
Church registers have been reporting on a church building in the village since 1665 . The current church was first mentioned in a document in 1732 when it was built. The consecration was carried out in October by the auxiliary bishop Christoph Ignatius von Gudenus from Erfurt . The portal was added in 1811.
To the nave
The triaxial in unplastered hall building with three-sided choir located high altar dates from the 18th century. The windows of the nave are rounded. The crucifix stands between the figures of Saints Boniface and Helena, dated to 1500 . The pulpit dates from the middle of the 18th century. A circumferential gallery with coffered fields is attached under the flat ceiling . The glazing in the chancel from 1900 depicts the Saints Agnes and Aloysius. Walter Kruse senior painted the Way of the Cross . from Kreuzebra .
The organ , created between 1910 and 1911, was designed by Louis Krell and Son from Duderstadt .
The bells , cast in Brilon in 1925 and in Apolda in 1952, are located in the slipped bell storey under a closed lantern and tail hood .
