description
The simple Gothic hall church had a three-sided end of the choir and a recessed church tower in the west. In 1733 and 1772 the church was largely redesigned in Baroque style , only the tower retained the acoustic arcades on its north and south sides with the remains of cross-frame windows and curved arched windows from the original construction period. The first floor of the tower is covered with a barrel vault, the first floor with a groin vault . The five axes of the former nave were divided by pilaster strips , on the south side there was a cartouche with an inscription . The interior had a circumferential double gallery and was covered with a mirror vault. The church furnishings also included a pulpit altar . The church burned down almost completely in 1996 and has since been replaced by a new building. Only the distant church tower with its eight-sided, pointed, slate-covered helmet was rebuilt true to the original. The organ with 14 registers , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , was built in 2002 by Orgelbau Waltershausen .
