St. Josef am See ( Italian San Giuseppe al Lago ) is a village in the Überetsch region in South Tyrol and a fraction of the municipality of Kaltern . The village occupies the slopes gently rising to the west of Lake Kaltern ( 215  m ). St. Josef does not have a village center, but consists of scattered groups of houses, which are concentrated in three locations: in the south around the small local church, at the exit of the Rastenbachklamm descending from the Altenburg plateau and on the northwestern shore of the lake with the tourist center.

St. Joseph Church

In addition to the St. Josef Church, consecrated in 1749, the historical building stock includes several residences (Greifenburg, Kaltenburg, Manincor , Ringberg) and farms, which, in combination with the extensive vineyards, shape the landscape.
