St Coloman

The St. Koloman Church (also St. Coloman ) is an Evangelical Lutheran church in Burgsalach , a community in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . It is the parish church of the Burgsalach parish in the Evangelical Lutheran Dean's Office in Weißenburg . The postal address is Hiselau 7. The building is registered under monument number D-5-77-120-11 as a monument in the Bavarian monument list. The medieval , underground components of the church are also registered as a ground monument (number: D-5-6932-0241). The church is dedicated to St. Koloman .

A church consecration by Gundekar II is documented for the year 1071. In 1464 this church was replaced by a new Gothic building. After a fire, today's choir tower church was built in the baroque style in 1746 . Only the basement of the choir tower remained. The tower was raised in 1885 and is crowned by a pointed helmet . An organ was installed in 1869, today's organ is from 1964. The altar is from 1807. The ornaments on the ceiling and walls are neo-Gothic . During a renovation from 1964 to 1965, most of the furnishings were removed. In 1986 the interior was partially reconstructed. On the tower side there is a pyramid tomb for Georg Michael Schmauser († 1817). On May 15, 2012 there was a fire in the entrance area, with property damage of 10,000 euros.
