The Catholic parish church of St. Kunibert is a listed church building in Heimerzheim in the Rhineland . It is the church of the parish Heimerzheim in the pastoral care area Swisttal in the Archdiocese of Cologne .

History and architecture

The three-aisled brick hall in round arch style was built in 1846/47 according to a design by Ernst Friedrich Zwirner . The west tower is in front of the choir , the semicircular apse , the box for the patron saint and the sacristy adjoin . The tracery of the large arched windows is made of cast iron. In the airy interior, groin vaults rest over slender square pillars . The original room version was uncovered in 1962 and supplemented according to findings.

The organ was built in 1851 by the organ builders Gebrüder Müller (Reifferscheid) and was last renovated in 2005 by the organ building company Weimbs (Hellenthal). The slider chests -instrument has 16 registers on two manuals and pedal . Several registers are divided into the bass and treble sides; some registers are only in the treble. The pedal is attached and a 16 'register was added in 2005.

Peal

Six bells have been installed in the church tower since 1961. Except for one bell, the original bell was melted down in 1942 for war purposes. For several years, three of the bells will be periodically re gebeiert .
