Coordinates: 51 ° 4 ′ 26 ″  N , 6 ° 4 ′ 25 ″  E The Catholic parish church of St. Hubertus is a listed church building in Kirchhoven , a district of the district town of Heinsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia .

History and architecture

The three-aisled brick hall was built from 1846 to 1848 by JP Cremer (1785–1863). The apse is semicircular on the inside and polygonal on the outside. The discontinued four-storey west tower is crowned with an eight-sided slate dome. The outer walls are structured by round arched windows in stepped walls and with a round arch frieze below the eaves . In the interior, ribbed vaults and partition arches rest over rectangular pillars .

Furnishing

  • In the choir is the remainder of a late Gothic stone sacrament house .
  • The Maasland crucifixion group made of wood is from around 1520. The assistant figures are close to the master who carried the Heinsberg cross.
  • In the bell tower there are four bells from 1638 and 1961.

  • The northern side altar with a depiction of the Coronation of Mary is in the style of carved altars from the Lower Rhine.
