The Roman Catholic Kranzes Chapel is located in the Oberbruch district in the town of Heinsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia . It stands as a monument under monument protection .

The chapel is located in the district of Oberbruch-Kranzes, An der Schanz, an earlier Rur crossing to Ratheim .

history

The chapel building was built in 1895 and is dedicated to St. John the Baptist . Many thanks to the preservation of the chapel belongs to the Rev. Mr. Pastor John Erkens (* 1910, † 1996) who restored with private funds the chapel, newly endowed and in 1974 the community of believers returned. The Kapellenverein eV, founded by his initiative, looks after the listed chapel.

architecture

The building is a single -bay brick construction with a ribbed vault and three window axes . The choir is closed on three sides. The roof is crowned by a six-sided, slim roof turret. In 1974 the chapel was restored.
