location
The single-nave church is at the entrance to Randerath , on a small hill on Randerather Straße. To the church building closes cemetery at.
history
In 1892 the architect Julius Busch from Neuss designed a plan for the construction of a church in Horst. The foundation stone was laid on May 14, 1894. On October 9, 1895, the local pastor Gottfried Mommartz from Dremmen authorized the church. The solemn consecration was on July 21, 1915. War damage to the church was repaired by 1949. On the north side of the choir , a second sacristy was added in 1962 according to plans by J. Esser from Dremmen .
Today the parish belongs to the community of communities (GdG) Heinsberg-Oberbruch .
architecture
The church is a single-nave, neo-Gothic brick building with a pointed arched, four-bay cross - ribbed vault . The one-bay choir has a five-sided choir closure. The four-storey west tower has a five-sided stair tower on the right.
Furnishing
- The organ with 6 registers and a pneumatic action from 1952 was built by Gerhard & Söhne from Boppard .
- In the church tower there are three bells from the years 1895, 1952 and 1951. (fis¹ - ais¹ - cis²)
- A tower clock is built into the church tower .
- The church has stained glass .
- Next to the main altar there are side altars , a sermon chair and some figures of saints to the right and left .
