history
The chapel is dedicated to the Holy Cross . It originally belonged to the Premonstratensian monastery , which was founded in 1140 by Goswin II von Heinsberg (* around 1090, † after 1167), Herr von Heinsberg. The monastery courtyard, which was built in 1772, is located near the chapel. The chapel was probably built around this time. The exterior is set with pilasters ; On each long side there are three flat arched windows , on the west side a large, originally probably completely open basket arch and on the end of the choir a small slotted baluster tip. The interior, with a shallow barrel , contains a wooden lattice from 1787 with tendrils and a curved lintel at the end of the choir ; on it the chronogram : REX IN CREATAE MAIESTATIS; OVI SALVANDOS SALVAS FREE; SALVA NOS FONS PIETATIS (1787). On the altar is a life-size crucifix from the 18th century (today it hangs on the choir wall).
