history
On April 23, 1893 the foundation stone for the construction of the church was laid. The chapel building association, founded around 1890, bought the building plans from the church in Houverath , which the architect August Carl Lange had drawn. The church was inaugurated in 1894. After the First World War , the population increased, so that the church had to be expanded. According to plans by Peter Salm from Aachen , the nave was considerably widened in 1932 and a flat ceiling was drawn in instead of the vaults . The solemn consecration took place on October 16, 1932 . The church was painted by Ernst Jansen-Winkeln from Mönchengladbach . When the war damage from November 1944 was repaired, the sanctuary was changed in 1954/55 and a new altar was purchased. This was consecrated on July 31, 1955. In 1957 the tower was renewed.
St. Mary's Rosary is now part of the community of parishes (GdG) Heinsberg-Oberbruch ( diocese of Aachen ).
