The construction plans for the new building by architect Prof. Josef Kleesattel from Düsseldorf were approved by the Cologne Vicariate . The new church was consecrated on November 30, 1905. The old chapel was released for demolition in 1908. In February 1945 the church was badly damaged by the effects of the war. The architect Winter from Stolberg directed the repair work , which was not completed until 1958. Remodeling work in the choir was planned in 1968 by Wilhelm Andermahr from Wassenberg .
