The St. Theresia Church is located in the Schafhausen district of the city of Heinsberg in North Rhine-Westphalia . It stands as a monument under monument protection .

location

The church is on Theresienstraße, in the center of the village and is dedicated to St. Theresa of the Child Jesus .

history

On 26 June 1930, the proposed church building association , the building permit and put a plan of Hubert Dohmen from Düren ago. The foundation stone was laid on August 21, 1930 . The solemn consecration was on June 28, 1931. The damage from the war years 1944/45 had been repaired by 1952. In 1969 the church was renovated and the chancel was rebuilt according to plans by Wilhelm Andermahr from Wassenberg . The new altar was consecrated on August 25, 1970.

Today, together with other parishes, St. Theresia forms the community of parishes (GdG) Heinsberg-Waldfeucht in the diocese of Aachen .

architecture

The church is a church hall in brick with a wide porch and a constricted, closed on three sides choir and a ridge turret above the chancel.
