St. Leonhard (Bauerbach)
The Catholic branch church of St. Leonhard in Bauerbach , a district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Wielenbach in the Weilheim-Schongau district , was built in 1548. The church is a protected architectural monument .
description
The nave was renovated in 1709 using the Gothic foundations in baroque style. The choir from 1735/36 and the tower elevation are attributed to Joseph Schmuzer . The cemetery wall with strong cover plates made of tuff was built in the 18th and 19th centuries. Century erected.
Furnishing
The stucco decoration in the nave, consisting mainly of tendrils, is attributed to Benedikt Perghofer from Polling . It dates from around 1709/10. The stucco work in the choir from around 1736 is attributed to Johann Georg Üblhör (1703–1763).
The three altars date from the Rococo period . In the high altar , the figure of St. Leonhard is flanked by the bishops Benno , Nikolaus , Augustine and Ulrich . All date from the second half of the 17th century.
The pulpit was built in the middle of the 18th century. The wooden figure of St. Leonhard from around 1500 is placed under the gallery . The large crucifix on the south wall dates from the first half of the 16th century.
Numerous votive pictures from the 18th century are placed under the gallery.
