The Roman Catholic pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard is in the Murnau district of Froschhausen in the Upper Bavarian district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen . The listed church belongs as part of the parish of St. Nikolaus Murnau to the deanery Benediktbeuern in the diocese of Augsburg . The address is Riegseer Straße 4 .

history

The church was first mentioned in writing in 1446, but it was probably built before that. The core of today's church is probably still late Gothic . Baroque changes took place in 1631 and around 1670, and in 1786 the church was redesigned in the late rococo style. The tower was rebuilt in 1730, together with an extension with a gallery .

Around November 6th ( St. Leonhard's Day of Remembrance ), a Leonhardi trip leads from Murnau to Froschhauser Leonhardikirche.
