St. Leonhard (Froschhausen)
The Roman Catholic pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard is in the Murnau district of Froschhausen in the Upper Bavarian district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen . The listed church belongs as part of the parish of St. Nikolaus Murnau to the deanery Benediktbeuern in the diocese of Augsburg . The address is Riegseer Straße 4 .
history
The church was first mentioned in writing in 1446, but it was probably built before that. The core of today's church is probably still late Gothic . Baroque changes took place in 1631 and around 1670, and in 1786 the church was redesigned in the late rococo style. The tower was rebuilt in 1730, together with an extension with a gallery .
Around November 6th ( St. Leonhard's Day of Remembrance ), a Leonhardi trip leads from Murnau to Froschhauser Leonhardikirche.
Description and equipment
The onion dome is attached to the north of the baroque church . The choir has moved in a little.
The high altar shows in the center a figure of the church patron Leonhard with a halo under a canopy . In the extract from the altar there is a representation of God the Father . In the nave there are numerous votive panels , including several reverse glass paintings .
organ
The organ was built around 1796 with five stops on a manual and attached pedal . In 1997, Riegner & Friedrich rebuilt the gamba register , added a fifth and tuned the instrument to Kirnberger III . The organ now has the following disposition :
