description

In Adenbüttel there was originally a small chapel that was looked after by monks from the Marienrode monastery . The neo-Gothic church was built from bricks in 1865/66 after the previous church from 1619 had become extremely dilapidated in 1860. The lower masonry made of rubble and field stones from the previous building was taken over for the church tower in the west. The outer walls of the nave are supported by buttresses and the tower by buttresses . The interior is spanned by a vault . It appears centralized by a large square yoke . Two old baptismal fonts , one from the 13th century, a communion chalice , the two church bells and the tower clock were taken over from the previous church. The altar , the pulpit , the crucifix and the four wedding chairs are new . The coat of arms of the von Marenholtz family , who had the church patronage , has been preserved on the patron's box in the north . The organ with 14 registers , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , was built by Furtwängler & Hammer in 1890 .
