description
Parts of the current hall church , especially the choir , the apse and parts of the current nave go back to the 12th century. Frescoes from this period were exposed again in 2004. A semicircular apse adjoins the retracted choir tower . The choir tower has a square floor plan , followed by an eight - sided slate - roofed floor with the clock faces of the tower clock on four sides , and sound arcades on the others . In the belfry hang two bells , the older of them dates back to 1521. Mostly, the tower with a large bulbous hood . The following intermediate piece has a small bulbous hood, which is crowned by a tower ball .
The nave was rebuilt in the 16th century. In 1682 the church was extensively renovated and changed. The tower dome comes from this time.
The interior is covered with a wooden beam ceiling. The windows were also considerably enlarged in order to make the church interior lighter. Around 1780 the church got today's two-story galleries . By 1900, the installation of today's found in the extensive renovation pulpit and the pews instead. The organ comes from the workshop of the Schleiz organ builder Ernst Poppe .
