The Catholic parish church of St. Michael in Rottbach , a district of the Maisach community in the Upper Bavarian district of Fürstenfeldbruck , is essentially a Gothic choir tower church , of which only the basement of the tower has been preserved. The church, which is consecrated to the Archangel Michael , is one of the protected architectural monuments in Bavaria.

history

The previous Gothic church was probably built after the local fire in 1485. At the end of the 17th century, a new nave in the Baroque style was added to the medieval choir tower church . In 1912 the nave was replaced by a new building according to plans by Joseph Elsner . Also, the tower was then increased and with a gable roof covered.

architecture

The choir , the originally Gothic basement of the tower, is covered with a groin vault, which is stuccoed with baroque fields and decorated with eggs and pearl rods . The neo-baroque stucco decor of the nave was carried out in 1912.
