history

An originally planned castle church east of the gateway was never realized. After a fire in 1634, the church was baroque until 1675 and 1738 and rebuilt in 1864. In the early 19th century, the chapel was used by both denominations. The interior was renovated from 1995 to 1996. With just under 20 members, the church has the smallest parish in the Free State of Bavaria . There is an elected church council and services are held every two weeks.

Furnishing

The chapel, a hall church with Renaissance - Portal , located in the south wing. A red marble tombstone of Abbot Wilhelm († 1449) comes from the Wülzburg Monastery, which disappeared due to the construction of the fortress . The baroque pulpit altar in front of the western front wall was erected in 1738. The coat of arms of the Ansbach margraves can be found on the east gallery . A holy water stone from 1815 next to the entrance indicates the former Catholic joint use. The chapel has an organ from the early 18th century and a baroque font . On the south facade there is a Luther picture from 1732, in the rear pulpit area there is a lecture cross from 1723.
