St. Otto (Mischelbach)
The Catholic Church of St. Otto in Mischelbach (Markt Pleinfeld ) is a branch of the parish church of St. Nikolaus in Pleinfeld. The building is registered under the monument number D-5-77-161-83 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian monument list.
The west-facing choir tower church is dedicated to St. Otto von Bamberg and stands in the middle of the village on Röttenbacher Straße at an altitude of 393 meters above sea level . It was built in 1922 by Hans Pylipp and consecrated on October 29, 1922. The altar comes from the church in Pfraundorf . The with a gable roof covered nave of sandstone blocks is the architectural style of the Baroque inspired. The church tower on a square floor plan has a pointed tent roof . It was originally fitted with a bell from 1886, a new bell was purchased in 1950. It bears the inscription: “Prince Carl v. Wrede , fallen on May 3rd, 1945 near Luckenwalde ”. Due to the influx of many expellees, the church was expanded in 1949. The room behind the altar was furnished with a painting depicting St. Representing Otto von Bamberg.
