history
Mischelbach was first mentioned in a document in 1264. In 1302 it was sold to the diocese of Eichstätt , and in 1802 it became Bavarian .
In 1496 Margreth Henstaub von Mischelbach and two daughters were arrested in Sandsee on suspicion of being a magician. The mother and one daughter were executed while the other daughter, Margreth, was released from custody.
Until the municipal reform in Bavaria , Mischelbach was an independent municipality with the districts Heinzenmühle , Kemnathen , Kleinweingarten , Schloss Sandsee and Utzenmühle . In 1972 the community decided to voluntarily join the community of Pleinfeld. This incorporation took effect on July 1, 1972.
