Mackenmühle is a district of the Markt Pleinfeld in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen , has about 60 inhabitants and is located at an altitude of about 370 meters above sea level.
The hamlet is located between Pleinfeld and Mühlstetten , 3.3 kilometers as the crow flies from Pleinfeld on the state road 2224 near the Treuchtlingen – Nuremberg railway line . The Heinzenmühle , Seemannsmühle , Utzenmühle , Prexelmühle , Reichertsmühle , Mäusleinsmühle , Ketschenmühle and Böschleinsmühle mills, which belong to Pleinfeld, are also located on this street, also known here as Mühlstraße . At Mackenmühle, at 357 meters above sea level, the lowest point in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district is located.
Near Mackenmühle, the Rote Graben coming from the east flows into the Swabian Rezat , which flows past the town to the east. Mackenmühle is bordered by the Sojen forest in the west and Kapellenschlag in the east. Bundesstraße 2 is about one kilometer to the east .
Before the municipal reform , Mackenmühle was a district of Stirn . On July 1, 1972, forehead and its districts were incorporated into Pleinfeld. There is a reception center in Mackenmühle for up to 300 asylum seekers .
There is a prehistoric settlement and several burial mounds nearby . There is also a private technology museum in Mackenmühle.
In terms of transport, the place is accessible with a bus line of the VGN (Verkehrsverbund Großraum Nürnberg).
