The Roman Catholic branch church of St. Peter and Paul is the village church of Obersfeld, a district of Eußenheim in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart . It is one of the architectural monuments of Eußenheim and is registered under the number D-6-77-127-107 in the Bavarian list of monuments. The Obersfeld branch is part of the Bachgrund parish community.

history

Obersfeld became a branch of the Hundsbach parish, which had been separated from the mother parish of Eußenheim in 1477 . The church tower was built in the Gothic period and was raised as the Julius-Echter-Turm in 1612 . The choir and nave were built between 1759 and 1762.

description

The church faces east. The church tower is on the north side. The high altar with an altarpiece of the Last Supper by Johann Peter Herrlein was created around 1780. The two side altars were built at the end of the 17th century. On the right side altar there is a figure of St. Lawrence from around 1470. The pulpit with reliefs is also a work of the 17th century. The organ , which was built into the case of the previous organ from 1762 in 1966, is located on the western gallery .
