History and architecture

inside view

The church was originally a church dedicated to St. Wissel branch dedicated to Peter . It was elevated to a parish church in 1445.

The three-aisled, rib-vaulted brick basilica was built in the 14th and 15th centuries with two choirs . The side aisles are narrow, the three-storey west tower from the 14th century is half enclosed. The main choir, which consists of a yoke and a pressed 5/8 end , also dates from the 14th century. The basilical nave from the 15th century is significantly higher than the choir. The choir protruding from a yoke with a 5/8 end over the flight of the aisle was built in the 15th century. It was connected to the main choir by two ogival arcades . A sacristy was added to the main choir on the south side in 1959 .

After being severely damaged in World War II, the building was rebuilt in its old form, with all roofs and vaults as well as the spire renewed.
