St. Petri (Ballstädt)
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Petri is located in the Rittergasse of Ballstädt , a district of the rural community Nessetal in the Thuringian district of Gotha .

The parish Ballstädt belongs to the parish Molschleben in the church district Gotha of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany . Until 2009, the entire church district belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thuringia .

The late Gothic hall church from the 14th century has a three-sided end of the choir . The retracted church tower is in the west. The nave , covered with a gable roof , began with inscriptions in 1497 and was rebuilt in 1696. The interior was largely changed in 1878. On the ground floor , the church tower has a groin vault with tracery windows and cross-frame windows . It has a pointed, eight-sided tent roof . The nave is equipped with two-storey galleries . The pulpit was built in at the end of the 18th century. The crucifix dates from the 2nd half of the 19th century.
The organ with 21 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1836 by Georg Franz Ratzmann and rebuilt in 1881 by Friedrich Christian Knauf . From 2009 to 2012 it was restored by Waltershausen Orgelbau.
