Building description

The plastered structure is located directly on the road from Ottobeuren to Eldern . The nave of the band is provided with a flat blanket over groove, the chancel with a vaulted ceiling . This has a five-eighth note. The interior of the building is structured by pilaster strips and blind arches, as is the outer facade, which contains arched windows. A coat of arms stone of Abbot Kaspar Kindelmann from 1583 is attached to the facade . The gable ends with a small two-story tower . The tower is four-sided in the lower part, octagonal in the upper part and has an onion dome. The vestibule built on the east side is covered with a groin vault and has two arched entrances.

Several epitaphs are attached to the facade . An epitaph is attached for Maria Josepha von Weckbecker († 1796) and made from Solnhofen limestone . Three other epitaphs are from the 19th century.

Furnishing

The altar consists of a marbled wooden structure and dates from around 1700. The canteen of the altar dates from the middle of the 18th century. The altar structure contains two twisted free columns and acanthus decoration. The altar panel is a painting of St. Sebastian . The ceiling painting was created by Balthasar Riepp in 1746. The nave ceiling shows the Last Judgment , the ceiling of the chancel shows the tetragram and putti . The eye of God and the coat of arms of Abbot Anselm Erb are located above the choir arch .

There are still a number of wooden figures in the church. These are St. Anthony of Padua and St. Francis , both created around the mid-18th century. A Christ on the scourge column in the niche extension dates from the 18th century. There is also a Vespers picture from the first half of the 18th century in the chapel.
