description
The first mention of a church in Alerheim that belonged to the Fulda monastery is passed down to the 8th century. The basement of the east tower is the remainder of a choir tower from the beginning of the 15th century. In the middle of the 16th century, the rectangular, barrel-vaulted choir was built and around 1730 it was extended to include the single-nave, flat-roofed nave. At the same time the tower was raised and covered with a pointed helmet over trapezoidal gables. In the west there is a gallery with an organ .
The hall construction from quarry stone has been redesigned end of the 1968 years, with the northern gallery was removed.
Numerous epitaphs from the 17th to 18th centuries have been preserved inside the church .
