The Roman Catholic branch church St. Ulrich in Holzhausen , a district of Schweitenkirchen in the Upper Bavarian district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm , has a late Gothic choir from the 15th century and a nave from the 18th / 19th century. Exterior construction

The church is a plastered hall building covered with a gable roof . On the west side of the nave rises the bell tower structured by cornices , which protrudes slightly from the facade. Like the choir, the tower dates from the late Gothic period. The octagonal structure is broken up on all four sides by arched sound arcades and is crowned by an onion dome. The tower is adjoined by a sign covered with a gable roof ; the sacristy with a pent roof is built into the southern corner of the choir . The choir that has not been drawn in has pointed corner templates.

The single nave nave opens up through a wide pointed arch to the polygonal closed choir, which is covered with a ribbed vault. The vault ribs, which rest on carved consoles , are made of pear rods . Flat relief depictions of a miter and a rosette can be seen on the keystones .

Furnishing

  • The high altar dates from the second half of the 17th century. The figures, St. Ulrich (in the middle), the Apostle Paul (left) and St. Stephen (right), are dated around 1500.
  • The two figures to the side of the altar, St. Catherine of Alexandria with her attributes , the sword and the wheel, and St. Barbara with sword and chalice, are works from the early 16th century.
  • In front of the choir arch hangs a rosary Madonna, surrounded by a halo and standing on clouds, with the baby Jesus in her arms. She wears a crown on her head and holds a scepter in her right hand.
  • The crucifix in the nave is from the Gothic period.
