Ortisei and Afra (Füssen)
The branch church St. Ulrich and Afra in Füssen , a town in the Swabian district of Ostallgäu in Bavaria , was built in 1725. The church dedicated to Saint Ulrich and Saint Afra at Augsburger Straße 49, in the north of the city, is a protected architectural monument .
description
The church was probably built by Johann Georg Fischer as a replacement for a previous chapel that had been destroyed in the Thirty Years War . The hall building with gable roof has a curved tent roof above the choir and Blend subdivisions. The eastern entrance front is provided with an octagonal roof turret . The sacristy with a semicircular staircase is built on the south side .
Furnishing
Of the furnishings , the high altar and the pulpit from the time of construction should be emphasized. On the side altar is a figure of the Virgin Mary, which was created around 1725. The choir stalls also date from around 1724/25.
