history
Augsburg became one of the first locations for the newly founded technical colleges in Bavaria in 1970 . At the end of the 1970s, the school moved to the building it is currently using in the Hochfeld district, which was originally designed for 1,300 students. Despite the establishment of further technical schools in the Augsburg neighboring cities of Friedberg and Neusäß , the school is currently attended by around 1700 students. The vocational school was in the hands of the city until a structural reform in 1997, but was then incorporated into the joint technical college and vocational school. The “technology” training course remained as the municipal vocational school in Augsburg under the leadership of the city of Augsburg.
