Supply and support company
The supply and support company ( VersUstgKp ), in the artillery force supply and support battery ( VersUstgBttr ), is a type of company of the German Bundeswehr . With its specialized sub-units it provides the operational and management support of the association (usually a battalion , and regiment ) safely. This includes connection, supply, transport, catering and repair.
Supply and support companies can be found at least in the Army branch , in the base of the armed forces (e.g. NBC Defense Battalion 7) and in the Central Medical Service ( medical regiments 1 , 2 and 3 , medical training regiment ).
The supply and support company is basically the 1st company (1./-). The specific company is named and abbreviated in connection with the associated association, e.g. B. 1./PzGrenBtl 212 for the first company of the Panzergrenadier Battalion 212 .
history
The predecessor of the supply and support company type was the staff and supply company ( StVersKp ). In this the NCOs and men of the staff were hung up in a staff platoon. The company commander was a disciplinary superior with level 1 disciplinary authority. This was usually a major , whereas the company commanders of the other companies in the unit were captains .
In today's associations with supply and support companies, the NCOs and men directly belong to the battalion headquarters - just like the officers before . Level 1 disciplinary authority vis-à-vis the NCOs and men is held by the newly created staff platoon commander ; for the officers it remains unchanged with the battalion commander .

The telecommunication train ensures leadership skills. This includes setting up and operating command posts and establishing telecommunications connections to the higher-level command.
