The Střelnice stadium , now called Chance Arena , is a football stadium in the Czech city of Jablonec nad Nisou . It is the venue of the football club FK Jablonec . There are 6,108 seats available in the stadium.
Characteristics
The stadium is located on the southwestern outskirts. It has three stands. The roofed main grandstand is located on the east side, where the main entrance is also located. Opposite on the west side is a roofed grandstand with seating, in the northern part of which the guest sector is located. There has also been a covered grandstand behind the gate on the south side since 2005. The north side is not developed. Immediately next to the arena is the city's athletics stadium.
history
The place where today's stadium is located was used by the Jablonec (German: Gablonz) shooting club as early as the 19th century. Since the beginning of the 20th century, the Schützen area has also been used by the city's footballers. An expansion took place in 1927 when a small wooden grandstand was built in addition to benches, changing rooms and ticket booths. The Schützenhaus sports field - the Czech name was Střelnice - of the BSK Gablonz was opened with a game against the DFK Reichenberg .
In 1955 a new large grandstand with a wooden roof and supporting pillars was built. In 1963 the previous ash place was given a lawn. A year later, the automobile manufacturer LIAZ took over the patronage of the club, which had previously been Jiskra Jablonec, as the new sponsoring company. This also led to fundamental changes to the stadium. First a running track was built for the athletes of the TJ LIAZ Jablonec, which greatly narrowed the playing field. In addition, a grandstand with 2,620 seats was built on the opposite side.
After the velvet revolution, the stadium was modernized. In 1994, the stadium was given a second attempt at underfloor heating, which was urgently needed in the snowy region. Two years later, the stadium was renovated and modernized again due to the club's promotion to the top division.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the stadium passed from TJ LIAZ Jablonec into the ownership of the city, which ended a long-standing dispute. In mid-2003 the stadium received a floodlight system, and in mid-2004 a roofed grandstand with 1,839 seats on the south side. In 2005 the main grandstand was demolished and within a year a new, modern main grandstand for 3,000 seated spectators was built.
In August 2007 the stadium was renamed the Chance Arena . The Czech betting provider CHANCE as acts as the name sponsor. In 2014 it got its old name back, Stadion Střelnice .
