history

The stadium was built in the early 1970s and opened on May 9, 1973, although not yet fully completed, with a game between Sklo Union Teplice and Slavia Sofia (1-0). An extensive sports area was originally planned, but ultimately only a football stadium and an ice rink were built. The first international match took place in the stadium on September 18, 1996, with the Czech Republic defeating Malta 6-0. In the autumn of the same year the stadium was modernized; among other things, the wooden benches were replaced by steel seats. After another renovation in 1998, the stadium met the standards of FIFA and UEFA . From 2000 to 2001 all seats except for the north stand were roofed over.

Since the end of September 2016, the stadium has been sponsored by AGC Aréna Na Stínadlech ; for a flat glass manufacturer from Teplice.
