A four-lane section of the federal highway 19 , which leads from the junction Würzburg-Heidingsfeld on the federal highway 3 to the junction Würzburg-Estenfeld on the federal highway 7 , is called the city ​​ring south in Würzburg . To the north-east of Würzburg, the road has been developed without a plan and is partially signposted as a motor road.

The southern ring road is used by many road users as a shortcut between the A 3 and the A 7 , and this phenomenon has been intensified by the introduction of the truck toll . Local residents therefore fought for years, with the support of the city ​​council, to block heavy goods traffic through traffic, which has been in force since the beginning of August 2006.

Junction Lengfeld Ost

The connection node opened in June 2009 in the north of Würzburg is intended to create shorter and easier accesses to the commercial areas in the Würzburg-Lengfeld industrial park (including Hornbach , Media Markt , IKEA ) and to develop the subsequent new residential area.
