History and description

Pole fitness forest in the district park
Linden-Süd district park in Hanover

The Linden-Süd district park is barrier-free and offers, among other things, “Hanover's first public basketball field ” as well as a so-called “pool” and a “free-flow arena” for skaters . In addition, a “pole fitness forest” was set up for demanding exercise options.

Park benches were set up between large oaks , alders , chestnuts and red beeches according to plans by landscape architect Gwendolyn Kusters ; Those looking for relaxation can also settle down on the stone stairs on the bank. In the winter months in particular, however, the area has been flooded up to halfway through one of the floods in Hanover .

A third of the park will not be completed until summer 2018, according to Sabine Tegtmeyer-Dette , Hanover's head of the environment, "of course again with the participation of the citizens ". According to the Environment Department of the Hanover Region, Axel Priebs , the facility parallel to a signposted cycle route of the cycle path network of the Hanover region will also have a dock for paddle and rowing boats .
