Stanisław Napierała
Stanisław Napierała (born December 23, 1936 in Kalwy , Greater Poland Voivodeship ) is Bishop Emeritus of Kalisz .
Life
After high school and the philosophical and theological studies, he was on 27 May 1961 in Poznan by the local Archbishop Anton Baraniak for priests ordained. From 1963 to 1965 he studied dogmatics at the Pontifical Gregorian University and from 1965 to 1967 dogmatic theology at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome. From 1969 to 1979 he was secretary to the Archbishops of Poznan. 1981 lecturer at the Theological Faculty of the Jagiellonian University in Cracow.
On 25 August 1980 it appointed Pope John Paul II. To the titular of San Leone and auxiliary bishop in Poznan . He received the episcopal ordination on October 5, 1980 by Jerzy Stroba , the Archbishop of Posen; Co-consecrators were Tadeusz Etter and Marian Przykucki , both auxiliary bishops in Poznan. He himself was co-consecrator at the episcopal ordination of Zdzisław Fortuniak (1982), Teofil Wilski (1995) and Grzegorz Balcerek (1999).
As auxiliary bishop he was vicar general of the Archdiocese of Poznan.
On March 25, 1992 Pope John Paul II appointed him first bishop of the newly founded diocese of Kalisz.
From 1998 to 2003 he taught fundamental theology and ecumenism at the Theological Faculty of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan .
On May 29, 2002, Bishop Stanislaw Napierała was honored by the city of Kalisz with an honorary title and on October 7, 2004 he was made an honorary citizen.
Pope Benedict XVI On July 21, 2012 he accepted his resignation due to reasons of age.
