He studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the seminaries in Gniezno (1945-1947) and Posen (1947-1950) and was ordained a priest on February 19, 1950 in the Poznan Cathedral by Archbishop Walenty Dymek . He then worked as a pastor and religion teacher in Chodzież and Posen. In 1954 he became chaplain and secretary to the Archbishop of Posen, initially with Archbishop Walenty Dymek, from 1956 with his successor Antoni Baraniak . In 1965 he was appointed secret papal chamberlain.

Pope Paul VI appointed him titular bishop of Glenndálocha in 1973 and appointed him auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Poznan . He was ordained bishop on February 23, 1974 by the Archbishop of Poznan, Antoni Baraniak SDB ; Co-consecrators were the Poznan auxiliary bishops Franciszek Jedwabski and Tadeusz Etter . His episcopal motto was "Beati Pacifici" (Blessed are the peacemakers). In 1975 he also became Vicar General of the Metropolitan Diocese of Poznan; after the death of Archbishop Baraniak he administered the archbishopric from August 1977 to October 1978.

In 1982 he was appointed bishop of the Kulm diocese by Pope John Paul II . The diocese of Kulm was renamed in 1992 by Pope John Paul II with the papal bull Totus tuus Poloniae populus after territorial assignment to the diocese of Thorn in the diocese of Pelplin and subordinated to the archbishopric of Danzig as a suffragan . Marian Przykucki was then appointed Archbishop of Stettin-Cammin in 1992. In 1999, his age-related resignation was granted.
