Stanislaus Rücker
Stanislaus Rücker , also called Rückert , (* December 17, 1649 in Giehren, today in Mirsk ; † April 14, 1734 in Berlin ) was the Prussian excise director and city councilor in Berlin.
Life
As a patron , Rücker promoted the school system in Berlin and his Silesian homeland. There he supported the schools of the Lutheran congregations, which were suppressed during the Counter Reformation , with donations .
In Berlin he founded several schools for the poor and the poor , and later also a foundation named after him. In the Lindenstrasse at the corner of Neue Kommandantenstrasse in Friedrichstadt , a memorial plaque commemorated the founder of the first of these schools since his death in 1734. In 1733 he also founded the “Zum armen Lazarus ” school for the poor in Königstadt , Landsberger Straße 45 . As a reminder, a neighboring community school built in 1856 bore his name. Today's Heinrich-Zille-Grundschule in Berlin-Kreuzberg also refers to a foundation by the Rückersche Foundation.
The Rückerstraße in Berlin-Mitte was named after Stanislaus Rücker in 1862 . The museum of the Federal Finance Academy also commemorates him.
