Stanley Johnson Jr. (born May 29, 1996 in Anaheim , California ) is an American basketball player who is currently under contract with the Toronto Raptors in the NBA . It is mostly used in the position of the small forward.

Career

Even in high school, Johnson was a talented basketball player and took part in tournaments with the American youth teams. In 2012 he won the U17 basketball world championship in Lithuania. After high school, Johnson played a year for the University of Arizona , where he averaged 13.8 points and 6.5 rebounds in 38 games.

In the 2015 NBA draft , he was in eighth place by the Detroit Pistons selected. Johnson had an average of 8.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 73 appearances in his rookie season .

In February 2019, Johnson was transferred to the New Orleans Pelicans in a 3-team trade.
