history

In 2001 the Stark Prize was launched by the then Prime Minister Heide Simonis . "It was important to me to donate a prize that honors the commitment of young people in Schleswig-Holstein. An unbelievable number of young people make themselves strong in our country and for our country. That is why there has to be a way of saying thank you to say " said Simonis at the 2004 award ceremony. The prize has been awarded to five youth organizations every year since 2001 and to two individuals since 2006.
